Bidz Auction House - Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bidz Auction House LLC ("Bidz", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website or create an account. By using this site, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information You Provide
When you create an account or register for an auction, we collect the information you enter, which may include your name, username, email address, phone number, mailing or billing address, and your answer to how you heard about us. If you contact us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
2. Payment Information
Card payments are processed by Stripe, our third-party payment processor. Your full card number is entered directly into Stripe's secure form and is never stored in our system. We receive only limited information such as the card brand, the last four digits, and whether a charge succeeded. Stripe processes this information under its own privacy policy.
3. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the site, we and our service providers automatically collect technical information including your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the date and time of your visit, and the website or advertisement that referred you.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, operate bidding features, and measure site and advertising performance.
We also store limited information about how you first reached our site — such as the referring website or the campaign tags in the link you clicked — in your browser's local storage. This lets us understand which sources bring us new bidders, and it stays on your device until you clear your browser data.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and clear local storage. Blocking them may prevent parts of the site, including bidding, from working correctly.
5. Analytics and Advertising
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site, and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) advertising pixel to measure how our advertising performs and to reach people who may be interested in our auctions. These services may set their own cookies and collect information about your visit as described above.
When you create an account, we may share a hashed version of information you provide — such as your email address, phone number, or name — with Meta so that it can determine whether our advertising led to your registration. Hashing converts this information into an irreversible string of characters before it leaves your browser. We do not share this information with Meta in readable form for advertising measurement, and we do not sell your personal information.
6. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate auctions and process bids, verify accounts and prevent fraud, issue invoices and collect payment, arrange item pickup, provide customer service, send auction notices and account messages, comply with legal and auctioneering obligations, and measure and improve our marketing.
7. How We Share Information
We share information with service providers who perform functions on our behalf, including our payment processor, email delivery provider, auction platform provider, and analytics and advertising partners. We may also share information with consignors or sellers as needed to complete a sale and arrange pickup, and with law enforcement, regulators, or other parties where required by law or to protect our rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell your personal information.
8. Email Communications
We send transactional messages related to your account, bids, invoices, and pickups. These are necessary to complete your transactions and are not marketing messages. If you opt in to auction alerts, we will also send notices about upcoming and closing auctions; you can unsubscribe from those at any time using the link in the message or by contacting us.
9. Data Retention
We retain account, bidding, and transaction records for as long as your account is active and afterward as needed to meet our legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations, and to resolve disputes.
10. Your Choices
You may review and update your account information by signing in to your account, or contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information. Some information must be retained where we are legally required to keep it, such as completed transaction records.
You can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on, and you can control ad personalization through your Meta account settings. You can also block or clear cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
11. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, and we rely on established third-party providers for payment processing and platform hosting. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Children's Privacy
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision, and your continued use of the site means you accept the current version.
